The institute, expressing its grief on X, formerly Twitter, announced, “We are deeply saddened by the demise of Ayush Gupta, our second-year PGP student, who suffered a cardiac arrest, this afternoon. Ayush (27) was senior coordinator of the Student Alumni Committee of PGP.”

Ayush, a graduate from BITS Pilani in 2017, was on his journey to further his education in the world of management. His dedication and enthusiasm were evident as he not only pursued his MBA at IIMB but had also completed a summer internship at Faering Capital. Besides his academic pursuits, Ayush’s interpersonal skills made him popular among his peers. He played an active role by working closely with the institute’s alumni.

Online tributes pour in for Ayush Gupta

The heartbreaking news of Ayush Gupta’s untimely departure has deeply affected the entire IIM Bengaluru fraternity, casting a pall of sorrow over the campus. Peers, faculty, and staff are struggling to come to terms with the loss of such a vibrant and promising young individual.

Voicing his sentiments, a LinkedIn user said, “The most cheerful, positive, and curious person I have met for sure! You will forever be missed Ayush Gupta. May your soul rest in peace! I am sure you are out there making new people laugh already!”

Another individual, echoing the sentiments of many, stated, “Deeply saddened such a blissful soul coming to an end at 27 years where he was about to make a difference in the world.”
